CODA_Plex speculates on the effects of the cinema on urban development.  Taking Inspiration from a deep reading of the cinematic devices of two science fiction films, Alien (1998) and Titan A.E., this proposal for a development along Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles seeks to combine biomedical research, Residential Living, and the Cineplex into one campus. This gesture is intended to serve as a centralized hub, creating a feedback loop where the research center's innovation can be directly showcased in the cultural amplifier we know as “the Cinema”. This scheme proposes a method, like the facehugger implanting a xenomorph embryo,  to fast-track the gestation of new medicines, therapies, and protocols in the public corpus.
